Reem Investments has awarded the contract for the development of the Residential Marina, Bay Central and Resort Marinas to China Harbour Engineering Company. This $201 million will bring Asian influence to the marinas of Najmat Abu Dhabi. The three marinas will be connected by a “Grand Canal” which will serve to link the marinas for commercial and leisure transportation purposes. Sources say that the project should be completed in approximately one year. This doesn’t seem like much time for the building of three massive marina areas but time will tell.

Mr. Cai Chuansheng General Manager - UAE, China Harbour Engineering Company, said: “The development of the three marinas and the grand canal is one of the few projects of its kind in the region and is considered by most specialists as one of the most difficult and challenging assignments both from a technical as well as logistics point-of-view.**
